From Insomnia to Freedom: How CBT-I Transformed My Sleep and Life.
For years, I was trapped in a relentless cycle of insomnia that spiraled out of control after a concussion in 2019. Nights stretched endlessly, and my exhaustion deepened to unbearable levels. On many occasions, I turned to a dangerous mix of prescription and over-the-counter sleep aids out of sheer desperation, fully aware of the risks. Even then, I still wasn’t sleeping. The frustration was unbearable. You feel completely helpless, as though nobody can truly help aside from prescribing you more medication, medication that never worked. The side effects left me feeling like a walking zombie, barely functioning during the day, while the nights felt like endless torture.
Nobody should ever feel that desperate to sleep.
After years of dead ends and yearly waiting lists, I finally got into a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) program. Skeptical after so many failed attempts, I didn’t expect it to be any different. But as I started learning how my thoughts and habits were fueling my insomnia, something began to shift. I was finally breaking free from the endless cycle of sleepless nights. The changes came surprisingly quickly, and for the first time, I saw a way out.
Through CBT-I, I rebuilt my sleep naturally, no medication, no gimmicks. Today, I fall asleep with ease, wake up refreshed, and live with clarity and energy I never thought possible.
